Baba Shukruddin

Baba Shukruddin was the resident of Aruth village and was the Khalifa of Baba Zainudin. On the instruction of his master, he spent twelve years on the top of the Sherkot hills in worshipping God. In the last phase of his life he remained busy in worshipping and expressed his desire in that he should be buried in the same cave. His shrine is situated 17 kms away in the North of Wular Lake on the top of Sherkot hills in the north east of Sopore.

It is said that till 1947 the roar of the cannon firing used to come out from time to time from the Cave and the roar used to be so loud that the window of the tomb used to fall down in the Wular Lake. This loud roar used to be a fore-warning of some unexpected events. Baba Payamuddin Tomb is visible from Baba Shukruddin Tomb. The spiritual master of both is same. Here too the Langar continues for the whole year just like the Shrine of the Baba Reshi and arrangement is made for free stay of the devotees.
