Pir Dastgeer Sahib

Pir Dastgeer Sahib (Hazrat Ghaus-e-Azam) is the originator of Silsila-e- Qadri in Kashmir. His sacred shrine is located in the Khanyar locality of Srinagar. It is also called Ghausia Shrine. The shrine houses many sacred relics including the sacred hair of Dastgeer Sahib. This shrine is one of the most important shrines for both Hindus and Muslims. The 11th day of Muslim calendar is considered sacred by his disciples as number 11 (kah in Kashmiri) is associated with Pir Sahib who is also known as Kahnav. “Dast” means hand and “geer” means to extend help.

It is a very beautiful shrine built in Indo-Saracenic style with khatamband ceiling. The interior is ornately decorated giving it a grand appearance.
